The Department of State has appointed Jim DeHart as the new US Coordinator for the Arctic Region. The position has hitherto been vacant since President Donald Trump assumed office.
DeHart is a career diplomat who has served 28 years in the foreign service. He most recently served as a Senior Advisor for Security Negotiations and Agreements, and before that as Deputy Chief of Mission in Oslo, Norway, with extended periods as Chargé d’Affaires.
