Greenland’s Ministry of Raw Materials refuses to announce the name of companies that have applied for exploration licenses as long as such applications are being processed, according to Sermitsiaq.
The environmental NGO Noah has requested insight into whether French uranium company Oran is behind an application for an exploration license covering a 2,500 km2 area in southern Greenland to look for gold, silver, copper, molybdenum and uranium.
The department will only inform the public about company names if such license is granted, it says in a letter to the NGO.
