In Greenland, several schools all over the country have started using a remote teaching concept as of the 2021/2022 school year in order to mitigate lack of teachers around the country, according to Sermitsiaq.
The concept only requires the school to have internet access as well as a teacher or assistant physically present in the class room as a practical aid for pupils, while another teacher at a remote location provides the teaching itself via a screen.
Some 98 percent of all schools, pupils and teachers have now received an iPad through the Kivitsisa project.
The program consists of a total of 18 pilot projects going on in all towns and villages around the country throughout the entire school year.
