The Norwegian Research Council has allocated NOK 24 million to map how salmon farming affects wild cod stocks. The project “Impacts of Salmon on Atlantic cod stocks” will be led by Pål Arne Bjørn of the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research.
The Institute’s researchers will be cooperating with reserachers from the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research, the University of Oslo, and the University of Tromsø as well as from the Geological Survey of Norway.
The project has an accumulated budget of NOK 40 million over five years.
