A new report is to provide more knowledge about new species eligible for fish farming in Norway.
- The government welcomes input on how to better facilitate farming of more species. I believe that we in the future will exploit more species than we do today, however, we need more knowledge about the opportunities and challenges in this area, says [Norwegian] Fisheries Minister Harald T. Nesvik in a press release.
There have been a series of attempts to farm other species than salmon and trout. For many species, the problem has been achieving sufficient profitability.
