Positive towards new measures for green shift in Norwegian industries

On Friday, Minister of Trade and Industry Jan Christian Vestre presented the government's new measures to increase the pace of the green shift in Norwegian industries.

Elin Dahlseng Eide, chair of Nordland County Council, believes it is both gratifying and important that the government today presents a clear commitment to new green value chains in Norway.

"This is simply a good day for those who are concerned with creating new green industrial jobs in Nordland," she says in a press release from Nordland County Municipality.

Nordland is now in the middle of the green industrial shift. Battery cells, hydrogen, ammonia and offshore wind are all important investments in Nordland.

"Over the past year, both the US and the EU have decided to spend more money on facilitating new green industry. This could lead to new jobs disappearing from Norway," says the county council leader in Nordland.

"There are very important signals coming from the government today. We are always working to influence state budgets. We will pay particular attention to framework conditions for new green industry in the upcoming national budget," concludes Dahlseng Eide.
