The two Russian companies Novatek and Rosatom have joined the Arctic Economic Council, according to a new release from the AEC.

Novatek is a Russian gas producer claiming to account for some 80 percent of the country’s natural gas production, as well as 15 percent of the world’s gas production.

Rosatom is a Russian nuclear energy company.
