Fish quotas for EU vessels are reduced, and Greenland gets more money. That is the outcome of prolonged negotiations between Greenland and the EU, according to Sermitsiaq.
The new fisheries agreement between the parties is in force from 2021 to 2026. Greenland will receive some DKK 140 million annually in 2021 and 2022, and the amount will increase after that.
The EU’s codfish quota increases from 1,800 to 1,950 tons. EU vessels’ quotas are reduced for the other seven species covered by the agreement.
