Following a series of warnings about overcatching flounders in northern Greenland, the Naalakkersuisut has decided to adjust quotas to the scientists’ recommendations.
The flounder fish quotas for Disco Bay, Uummanaq and Upernavik have for years been higher than what is considered sustainable for a scientific point of view.
The quotas for two districts are lowered for 2019, and they are to be gradually adjusted to the scientists’ recommendations over a four-year period, according to KNR.
