The largest ice shelf in the Arctic is located in northeastern Greenland. It has now broken off and appears to be rapidly shrinking, according to KNR.

The ice shelf that has now broken off is located near a glacier called the Niogenhalvfjerdsfjorden Glacier. Since 1999, the ice shelf has diminished more than 160 square kilometers, more than twice the size of Manhattan.
