Increased Investments in Greenlandic Anorthosite Mine

The investment funds Greenland Venture and Vækstfonden [‘the Growth Fund’] have invested in Greenland Anorthosite Resources, a company aiming to mine anorthosite at Fiskenæsset, south of Nuuk, according to KNR.

The daybreak mine is scheduled to be opened in three years’ time.

The test results for the planned mine demonstrate promising results, both when it comes to quality and amount, says Heidi Haurholm-Rasmussen, Senior Investment Manager of Vækstfonden.

Anorthosite is a material that can be used in the production of fiberglass and aluminum. There is already an anorthosite mine in northern Greenland, near Kangerlussuaq.
