When Inatsisartut, Greenland’s parliament, was to process the self-rule government’s proposed state budget for 2021 last Wednesday, it was clear that all opposition parties want amendments, according to Sermitsiaq.
Naalakkerusisoq for finance [finance minister] Vittus Qujaukitsoq (NQ) presented a draft state budget in the end of August, one with a DKK183 million deficit.
The Inatsisartut Committee on Finance and Taxes does not support the proposed budget. The Committee warrants concrete measures to save money in order to end up with a balanced budget or even a surplus.
The second step in processing the proposed budget will take place on 28 October.
