Last Friday, Greenland’s governing self-rule coalition was expanded with one party, Demokraterne [Democrats], according to KNR. With the Demokraterne’s entering the coalition it will once again hold a majority of the votes in the Greenlandic parliament, Inatsisartut. The coalition previously consisted of the Siumut and NUnatta Qitornai parties.
This change also leads to altering of some of the government – Naalakkersuisut – posts, and the new coalition member party will have three out of nine posts.
Steen Lynge will be Greenlands new foreign and energy minister, Anna Wangenheim will be responsible for health and Jens Frederik Nielsen will be naalakkersuisoq for business and raw materials.
