Greenland’s Economy Growing

Greenland’s Economic Council expects the economy to grow by 3.9 percent in 2020, which is more than a doubling of the 1.9 percent growth in 2019.

The construction of new airports, investments in housing construction and higher shrimp quotas are the reason for the high prognosis, said Anders Møller Christensen of the Economic Council chairmanship, according to Sermitsiaq.

He argues that it is important that politicians now set funds aside as a buffer for later. He also voiced a encouraged politicians rather strongly to reduce the public sector. Møller Christensen argues that the public sector should reduce its expenses by DKK 600 millions during the coming decade.
