Unvaccinated people aged 15 or older are denied access to public spaces such as restaurants, movies, pubs, sport clubs and gyms in Greenland as of today (Wednesday) and up until 14 February, according to Sermitsiaq.
The only exemption applies to grocery stores, post offices, airports and offices or facilities belonging to public authorities, as well as in relation to public transport.
Greenland’s Chief Medical Officer Henrik L. Larsen says these restrictions are introduced because it is no longer possible to offer PCR tests to unvaccinated people in order for them to acquire a Corona pass. Larsen says the Greenlandic health services are seriously challenged due to Corona, as a high number of its staff are in isolation.
Greenland also removes the requirement about having a negative PCR test prior to entering the country.
