Fisheries Agreement between Norway, EU and Great Britain

Norway, EU and Great Britain have agreed on common management of North Sea fish stocks. In addition to the three-party agreement, Norway and the EU have entered into a two-party agreement about the North Sea and Skagerak, as well as a neighborly agreement about Sweden. Thus, Norway and the EU agree about access to fisheries in each other’s zones and also quota swaps.

With quota swaps in place, Norwegian fishermen may start fishing also near Greenland and in the EU zone.

All that remains now, is to enter into a two-party agreement with Great Britain, the negotiations for which are currently ongoing, says the Norwegian Fisheries Minister.
