The Faroe Islands and Japan have signed an agreement on cooperation in research, trade, culture, and education, according to Sermitsiaq.
Japan’s Foreign Minister Takako Suzuki and the Faroese Minister for Foreign Affairs Jenis of Rana signed the agreement on behalf of their respective countries. The agreement has been prepared for years.
The Faroe Islands have signed a series of agreements in recent years. In 2020, a framework agreement on fisheries with Great Britain was signed, as well as a trade agreement with the USA. The Faroe Islands are currently also working on improving its trade agreement with the EU.
