The Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries extends the season for snow crab fishing until 10 June. The fishermen thus have nine more days before the end of the snow crab season.

The snow crab fisheries are closed for a period in order to protect the snow crab when it is changing its shell. This year, fisheries were supposed to close on 1 July, but now the season has been expanded until 10 July. Snow crab fisheries will then be closed through 30 September.

In addition, the minimum size requirement is reduced from 100 millimeters to 95 millimeters.
