Equinor (formerly known as Statoil) has been granted a five-year postponement of the deadline for the company’s submitting a development plan for two deposits found in the Barents Sea, according to petro.no.

The original deadline was December 2019.

Further postponements are expected due to lack of available capacity in local infrastructure. Only after 2038 will there be capacity available at the Hammerfest LNG facility.
