The Naalakkersuisut (self-rule authorities) in Greenland have approved the Environmental Impact Assessment from Qeqqata municipality regarding a new road that is to be constructed between Kangerlussuaq and Sisimiut, according to KNR.
The approved report concerns the distance from Kangerlussuaq to kangerluarsuk Tulleq.
The bid competition for construction of the road and an ATV trail has already been announced and the deadline is 27 May. The road is to be ready by 15 September 2021.
The entire road including an upgrade of the ATV track is estimated to cost DKK 400-500 million.
