Danish school children from Gentofte on exchange to Tasiilaq, Greenland will not be using private accomodation from now on, according to KNR. This is due to the revealing of extensive child abuse in Tasiilaq.
Gentofte municpality has since 1990 sent approximately 30 children from year five on exchange to Greenland every year. Tasiilaq and Gentofte are twinned cities.
Until today, the Danish school children have been using private accomodation when in Greenland. However, following the revealing of Tasiilaq child abuse, Gentofte authorities say these children will from now on be accomodated at e.g. a school or hostel as a preemptive measure.
