Danish Nunavut Consul from Greenland

Danish Navarana Beveridge, who was raised in Greenland, has been appointed Danish honorary consul for the Nunavut territory, according to Sermitsiaq.

The Danish embassy in Canada says it has been important to appoint a person who has a personal and solid knowledge of Greenland, given the close ties between Nunavut and Greenland.

Beveridge has lived in Nunavut for 22 years. She has worked in management and social policy for an Inuit organization and speaks fluent Greenlandic, Danish, English and Inuktitut.

The Danish queen has recently appointed a total of ten honorary consuls around Canada.
