Last week, Iceland saw four days in a row with more than 100 positive Corona tests, and only the sixth since the pandemic reached the country in late February last year, according to RUV Iceland.
73 of the new cases identified are among vaccinated people, two people were half-vaccinated, and 35 had not been vaccinated. The vaccination status of two is unknown. Around a quarter of the 112 people were already in quarantine before testing positive.
The 14-day infection rate per 100,000 people has increased to 280.6 domestically and 10.4 at the border.
