Corona Wave in Russian Orthodox Church

In Russia, a series of monasteries and churches have become local hotspots for spreading Covid-19, according to Meduza.

A series of churches have remained open before, during and after the Orthodox Easter, and the Church Council of the Lavra church and monastery, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, has stated that it is convinced that it is impossible to be infected with any illness through participation in communion or other sacraments.

The Patriarch (leader) of the Russian-Orthodox church has issued a decree to prevent spreading the Corona virus, however, not all churches nor church representatives adhere to centrally issued regulations.
