26 Million NOK to Andøya Space Center

The Norwegian government invests NOK 26 million in Andøya Space Center for a preparatory project phase for Andøya Space Port. The money will go to further developing of the plans for a small-satellite launch base at Andøya island in Northern Norway.

The government announced last May that it would provide funding of up to NOK 365 million for the establishing of a satellite launch base at Andøya Space Center. The funding consists of two parts; one part of NOK 282.6 mNOK in the form of investment in the company, secondly a grant of NOK 83 million.

The NOK 26 mNOK is the first downpayment of the NOK 282 million frame allocation.

“This money will go to setting up the project organization, conducting ground surveys, technical calculations and negotiating contracts”, says Norwegian Trade Minister Iselin Nybø.
