During 2023, volunteers cleaned over 28,000 kilos of trash from vulnerable Arctic nature through the Arctic Cleanup project.
This was reported by Keep Norway Beautiful.
Arctic Cleanup has been a three-year initiative under the Arctic Council's "Protection of the Arctic Marine Environment" (PAME) program. The project has focused on volunteer cleanup and citizen science in Arctic areas.
The project is a collaboration between Keep Norway Beautiful, Ocean Conservancy (OC), and local Arctic cleanup communities. Finnmark Friluftsråd is the project's local partner in Norway.
