The Norwegian Oil- and Energy Department has awarded 83 new licenses in the so-called TFO 2018 round, 14 of which are located in the Barents Sea.

The TFO allocations focus on locating resources in areas where there is already existing infrastructure related to petroleum exploitation and where further development is planned.
