A new child advocacy center aimed at helping Nunavut’s victims of child abuse will open in Iqaluit in April, according to Nunatsiaq News.

The center will be a one-stop-shop that coordinates the efforts of various service providers. I will be led by the Arctic Children and Youth Foundation, a charity organization led by Mary Simon, who received the 2018 High North Hero award.

The organization has worked on this project for at least five years.
