The Norwegian seafood industry expects the traditional mass influx of migrant workers in relation to the 2021 winter fisheries. The government has now introduced new regulations for foreign migrant workers.

Border control will be intensified due to preventive measures in relation to infection control. People wanting to enter Norway will be permitted entry, however, the police wants to make sure they meet entry requirements and have plans for how to conduct their quarantine. Border control points will be staffed 24/7.

The system is to be in operation as of January 2021.
