Norway, Finland, Sweden, Germany and Canada announce a combined sum of € 7 million to be spent on use of biomass resources from the forest.

Through the cooperation initiative “Bioeconomy in the North” (BIN) the five countries want to develop deeper cooperation about and increase quality of research in bio-economics.

Bio-economics is also an important area of initiative for the Nordic ministerial cooperation, which is chaired by Norway in 2022.
