Nordic Council Literary Award 2021 to Greenlandic Author

Greenlandic Author Niviaq Korneliussen has won the Nordic Council Literary Award 2021 for her novel «The Flower Valley», according to Sermitsiaq. It is the first time ever for a Greenlandic author to win this award.

Korneliussen’s book was published in 2020 and circles around love, friendship and suicide among Greenland’s young.

A total of 14 authors were nominated for this year’s award. Korneliussen received an award statue named ‘Nordlys’ [Northern lights] as well as DKK 300,000.
