Greenland’s Kielsen May Be Overthrown By Own Party

An open conflict has emerged in Greenland’s self-rule government party Siumiut, and seven Siumiut members have expressed clear lack of confidence in party chairman and self-rule leader Kim Kielsen, according to Sermitsiaq.

The management and board of Siumiut have expressed their support for Kielsen, however, the lack of confidence is now to be decided on by the party’s 60 local chapters. If a majority of these support the seven-person initiative, the party will have to organise an extraordinary general meeting to decide matters.
