Faroe Islands' PM Wants US Trade Deal

Faroe Islands’ Head of Government Aksel V. Johannesen wants to bring trade between the USA and the Faroe Islands onto the agenda of the planned meeting with US President Donald Trump on 2.-3. September, according to Sermitsiaq.

The USA represents an important market for Faroese fish exports, totalling DKK 700 million in 2018. That makes the USA the third largest market for Faroese fish.

The final agenda for the meeting between Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Greenland’s self-rule chairman Kim Kielsen, the Faroe Islands’ Head of Government Aksel V. Johannesen and the US President has yet to be concluded.
