Announcement of the Laureate of The Mohn Prize 2024

The laureate of The Mohn Prize 2024 for outstanding Arctic research will be announced on Monday, November 6th, as part of the reception of The International Nansen Legacy Symposium “Towards a new Arctic Ocean” at the Fram Centre in Tromsø, Northern Norway.

The announcement ceremony will include a greeting from the winner, as well as a professional justification of the award from the Mohn Prize Committees.

The laureate will receive the Mohn Prize during the Arctic Frontiers Conference 2024 in January.

The International Mohn Prize recognizes outstanding research related to the Arctic. The award aims at setting issues that are central to the further development of the Arctic on the national and international agenda.

The Mohn Prize has been established by UiT The Arctic University of Norway, Academia Borealis - The Academy of Sciences and Letters of Northern Norway (NNVA), and Tromsø Research Foundation (TFS). The prize amounts 2 million NOK (approximately 200 000 €). It is awarded biennially.
