“We are now announcing a new tender bid for the ferry connection on Rv 85 between Bognes and Lødingen. The tender requires zero-emission technology, larger boats and more departures. With this tender, there are now requirements about climate-friendly technology on all major ferry connections in Northern Norway, says Transportation Minister Knut Arild Hareide.

The state-owned road operator Statens vegvesen will now formalize the competition, so that operations of a new contract may commence on 1 October 2023. The contract period is set at ten years, with option to prolong it for one year.
