The Arctic Encounter Summit 2026, the largest Arctic policy gathering in North America, is taking place April 15–17 in Anchorage, Alaska.

Held at the Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center and the Anchorage Museum, the Summit convenes global policymakers, Indigenous leaders, military officials, scientists, and industry executives from more than 30 countries to address urgent issues shaping the Arctic.

Arctic Encounter, an Alaska-based 501(c)(3) organization, produces the largest Arctic policy and business convening in North America and leads partnerships and engagements worldwide.

“What happens in the Arctic doesn’t stay in the Arctic. It’s shaping global security, energy, and economic systems in real time,” said Rachel Kallander, Founder and CEO of Arctic Encounter, according to a press release.

“As global priorities collide and the world looks North, Arctic Encounter brings together the leaders shaping what comes next—and connects them to the people and places that must inform those decisions.”

“The Arctic is our home, and our communities must be part of shaping its future – we’re proud to welcome this group to Northwest Alaska and share that perspective firsthand,” said Liz Ferguson, Founder of Aqvaluq Co.

This year’s Summit takes place amid rapidly shifting geopolitical dynamics and rising global tensions. Speakers representing over 20 countries, including ministerial and parliamentary leaders. Arctic Encounter’s mission is to raise awareness, engage critical challenges, and advance solutions alongside Arctic and non-Arctic stakeholders.
