European Interest in Northern Norwegian Inclusion Model

Nordland’s work on inclusive culture generated interest during the Assembly of European Regions (AER) Summer Academy in Catalonia, Spain.

Together with Open Art Nord, Nordland County Municipality from Northern Norway and the Council for People with Disabilities demonstrated how art and culture can open doors to participation and engagement.

Representatives from various European regions and municipalities reached out to discuss collaboration, the exchange of experiences, and opportunities for staff exchanges.

"We see that many regions across Europe are looking for effective models of inclusion. Nordland’s experiences are attracting interest because they demonstrate how people with disabilities can actively participate as cultural practitioners, artists, and citizens," says Kim André Haugan Schei, Deputy Chair of the Council for People with Disabilities in Nordland.
